Reviews for 10 DEAN Waverley
Review highlights
Based on 452 reviews10 DEAN | Waverley is widely recognized for its vibrant and inviting atmosphere, making it a popular destination for both casual visitors and students seeking a productive study environment. The cafe's contemporary design and ample, comfortable seating arrangements contribute to a welcoming space that accommodates group activities as well as individual work. Staff are consistently praised for their friendliness, knowledge, and passion for coffee, often enhancing the overall experience with specialized workshops and attentive service. The coffee offerings, including thoughtfully sourced beans from multiple roasters, receive positive feedback, particularly for unique flavors like their vanilla-infused coffee. While some patrons note that certain food items, such as pastries, can be average in taste, the overall quality and presentation maintain a favorable impression. Additionally, amenities like laptop chargers and a moderate noise level support the cafe’s appeal to students and remote workers. Occasional high traffic reflects the cafe’s popularity but does not detract from its inviting ambiance.
I celebrated my birthday at 10 Dean Cafe by doing their Matcha Making Workshop and it was honestly one of the best experiences ever! All my friends had such a great time, even the ones who don’t normally like matcha were raving about it. Nadiia, our instructor, was incredible! Very knowledgeable, patient, and fun. She truly made the whole experience unforgettable. The ingredients were all so fresh, and you could really taste the difference in the quality. We made our own matcha drinks, and I have to say the strawberry matcha was hands down the best I’ve ever had. I’ll definitely be coming back just for that. If you’re thinking about doing the matcha class, I highly recommend it! And if not, do yourself a favour and stop by the cafe anyway, the strawberry matcha alone is worth the visit. Best one in the city!
It’s always really packed when I’ve tried to come in, but this time I got a seat! The lady at bar was really nice! :) and I really like the vanilla they use for their coffee. The croissant was just average in taste, but the texture was pretty good! They have chargers for your laptops, and it’s a popular study area. Definitely recommend to fellow students!
This is the second visit I have made to this super contemporary coffee shop very near the University of Toronto campus. The space is open and very inviting with a really large amount of seating in many configurations. As a result it is very easy to find a place to sit and work or have a chat!!!! The first time I visited this cafe I participated in a very well run coffee brewing seminar which I would recommend to anyone interested in learning more about the specifics of pour over coffee brewing. The espresso based drinks I had at that time were excellent. On this visit I ordered the Nitro Honey Oat Latte which came highly recommended . As willl be clear from my other caffe reviews on Google, I do not usually order sweet cold drinks but this one was wonderful. It had the perfect amount of sweet and the coffee flavour came through clearly. This is a coffee shop I will certainly introduce to friends!!!!
An incredible experience here with very knowledgable staff, who are truly passionate about coffee. Daniel and Sarah were fantastic in every way. The vibe and backdrop are great. Highly recommended! Bonus points as they’re a multi roaster.
really amazing environment to get some work done, i love the interior and how comfortable all the seating is. the staff was also super friendly and helpful. it was kind of busy in the afternoon, but it wasn’t too loud so it was easy to focus. the tea was a bit expensive but it came in a little kettle thing and a biscoff so i’m not too fussed.
This is an incredible coffee shop close to UofT!! The iced matcha latte was delicious and the staff are very friendly!! There is also lots of comfortable seating and big tables to work at! This is a great place to get work done, read a book, or hang out with friends.
10 Dean is an amazing coffee shop in the Waverley Hotel on Spadina. It's got a very upscale vibe with a hip clientele in this modern space. Mood lighting. Cool furniture. Amazing deco. The service was superb. They went to the trouble of bring me a drink and a table to set up upon. I asked for a double Espresso and it came as a sidecar (with soda water) and a biscotti. Everything was top notch here. 5 x
